A long wait….

Seriously……..3 more days of school (Today, Monday and Tuesday).   The kids have mentally checked out….and I am right behind them.   The clock is slowly, SLOWLY ticking away.   Summer……WHERE ARE YOU?!?!?!?!??!

Punky’s “bug”

Poor Punky.    He’s at home today with Hubby.   He threw up last night a few times, and he has thrown up a few more times today.   Poor kid.   Hubby is calling the doctor’s office to see what else we can do.   He can’t keep fluids down.  Keep your fingers and toes crossed…..and while you’re doing that, say a little prayer for the little guy.   He’s been sleeping on and off again most of the day….

Crockpot Cheeseburgers

I made these today for the family picnic we went to in Blue Earth, MN. They were delicious! I doubled the recipe and it turned out great! Enjoy!

Ingredients

• 2 lbs lean ground beef
• 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
• 3 ounces Velveeta cheese; cubed
• 2 tablespoons milk
• 3 tablespoons diced Claussen Dill Pickle Spears
• 2 tablespoons prepared mustard
• 3 tablespoons ketchup
• 1 small onion, chopped
• 2 garlic cloves, put through press
• 8 hamburger buns
• lettuce (optional)
• tomato (optional)

Directions

1. In a large skillet over medium heat, brown ground beef with onion and black pepper until beef is cooked through.
2. Drain off excess fat and transfer beef to a 3 1/2 to 5-quart crock pot.
3. Add all other ingredients except Hamburger buns, Lettuce and tomato.
4. Cover and cook on LOW for 2 to 2 1/2 hours.
5. Serve the beef on toasted sandwich buns with an assortment of condiments.

Death by Banking

This. is. it. I hate banking. Always have. You’d never know I was my father’s daughter.

I went ahead and paid bills last week, posting them on Friday, my payday. Little did I know that my checking account was negative, (a “little” oversight on my part to NOT login last week and check it!) so when I got paid on Friday, I had $364 in fees plus my negative balance already taken out. So, as my bills were being paid, my account was going even more negative. There goes our stimulus check.

As of right now, I am digging out a check book register and filling it for ALL transactions! It’s too easy to use my checkcard……and I never write things down if I use my card! So, all of the $50+s in gas, the $75s at Target, the $25s at Walgreens, the $20 co-pays at the clinic, the $12 at Caribou on Fridays, the money I float people who order products from me…all add up…and leave me throwing all of my money out the window.

Ugh. I hate money.

Damn it.

I remember getting gas when I lived in LaCrescent, MN in 1999 for 90 cents a gallon. How the hell did we get to $3.69 a gallon today?

A “Big Boy Bed!”

Punky is sleeping in his “Big Boy Bed” (aka Toddler Bed) tonight. He’s been out of his crib for a week……..he had been sleeping on his mattress on the floor….just getting used to not being in the crib. But, tonight—–he’s up there in his “NEW” Bed!

I changed his room around a bit to accommodate the new bed….   Here are some pictures of his room and of him in his bed!   Where is my baby?!?!?!?!?!??

I did it….

I got my first manicure and pedicure at the place I used to go to with my mother-in-law! I haven’t been there since she passed away in late August. On a whim yesterday, I called and set up an appointment for afterschool. When I got there, the lady who always did Miriam’s nails was who I had an appointment with! We laughed and talked about Miriam the whole time. The lady had just thought that Miriam had moved away…and never said goodbye. She was so sweet. She asked me to say hi to her the next time I go to the cemetery. I had a nice time……and ooooohhhhhhh did the mani and pedi feel good!
